How we rank the lightest Backpack
Every item on this page comes from the HikeLoad gear weight database, sorted purely by manufacturer-listed weight in grams — no sponsored placements. For ultralight and lightweight backpacking, your backpack is one of the easiest places to shave grams without sacrificing function, so seeing the full range side by side makes it easy to spot the best weight-to-need trade-off.
The 150 products in this category range from 176g up to 2,495g, with an average of 952g. Tap any item to see its full weight breakdown in kilograms and pounds, then add it to your kit in the free HikeLoad gear planner to see how it affects your total pack weight.
